Breaking: Trump Announces 50 Percent Tariff on Autos, Steel from Canada

President Donald Trump announced Monday morning that he will impose a 50 percent duty on all trucks, cars, and steel from Canada in response to “ridiculously high tariffs” on American agricultural products.

“Canada has been ripping off the United States of America for years. Their ridiculously high tariffs on our Farmers and farm products has made life impossible for these great American Patriots, and has long created a 60 Billion Dollar Deficit between our two Countries,” he wrote, adding that it is “Not sustainable, and NOT ANYMORE!”
“On January First, 2027, Tariffs on all Cars, Trucks, both large and small, Automotive Parts, and Steel, will be increased to 50%. Build in the U.S. and there are ZERO TARIFFS. Canada will be treated like a State no longer!” he added.
The president said that Canada is “among the worst Nations in the World to deal with” on trade and on other issues.
“They feel entitled, and yet, WE DON’T NEED CANADA, THEY NEED US! They do 95% of their business with the U.S., with us, the exact opposite!” he wrote.
Bessent Warns ‘Economic D-Day’ Awaits Iran
“The single greatest financial offensive ever” awaits Iran as the U.S.-Israel war with the totalitarian Islamic regime enters its “endgame,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned Monday.
Bessent further cautioned the U.S. would sever all economic ties with the country in “an economic D-Day” and any nation partnering with Iran financially would also be isolated, he so described in an opinion piece for the Financial Times newspaper published out of London.
“The world should understand that our objective is to sever every economic lifeline that sustains the tyrannical regime until Tehran stands alone,” Bessent wrote in the piece.

Iran Puts $10 Million Bounty on the Head of Barron Trump
An Iranian state television outlet has reportedly broadcast a “news segment” detailing efforts to locate and murder President Donald Trump’s 20-year-old son Barron, including a $10 million reward to be paid for a successful assassination.
“The segment displays locations and online platforms purportedly associated with the effort and depicts attempts to map social connections around the president’s son and penetrate layers of Secret Service protection,” Iran International reported.
The segment concluded by claiming that “many would be willing” to claim the $10 million reward for assassinating President Trump’s son. Iran International noted that none of the claims of an active murder plot made by the Iranian TV segment could be independently verified.
“The decision to air such material on Iranian state television is significant in itself. Threats against Trump and other current and former U.S. officials have featured for years in Iranian political rhetoric, state-linked media and rallies, alongside alleged assassination plots that U.S. authorities have attributed to Tehran,” the report added.
Some of those threats have been directed against President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump and American prosecutors have accused operatives of Iran’s terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of actively plotting to kill current and former U.S. officials.
El-Sayed Speaks At Event By Pakistan Association Of America
Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who regularly rails against Israeli influence on American elections, had no issue speaking at a conference aimed at influencing the politics of a foreign country over the weekend.
Surrounded by Pakistani flags, El-Sayed spoke at the Pakistan Association of America in Metro Detroit on Sunday, celebrating the 79th anniversary of Pakistani independence and calling for an end to military rule in the South Asian country, The Detroit Free Press reported. He also compared the fight for democracy in Pakistan to his party’s efforts against President Donald Trump.
“I’m so honored to be here with you today to celebrate Pakistani independence, but I do want to speak specifically to this moment right now because the only reason I could be running for office is because I was born in these United States of America because of an accident of history,” El-Sayed said.
“Democracy is a precious thing. It is a beautiful thing,” El-Sayed added. “And it operates on a knife’s edge, and we see that in these United States right now under a president who threatens the very ideals of democracy itself.”
