Chairman Rand Paul announced the 8-5 committee vote on Thursday morning.
In an all caps post, Paul wrote, “PASSED BY REPUBLICANS ON BEHALF OF THE MILLIONS OF AMERICANS AND THEIR FAMILIES STILL AFFECTED YEARS AFTER THE COVID PANDEMIC, THE RESOLUTION TO HOLD ANTHONY FAUCI IN CONTEMPT OF CONGRESS HAS PASSED OUT OF THE SENATE HOMELAND SECURITY AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE BY A VOTE OF 8-5.”
Trump Has A Warning For ‘Treasonous’ Leakers
President Donald Trump said the United States has ample military munitions and warned that officials responsible for leaking sensitive information about U.S. weapons stockpiles are being pursued.
Trump said defense contractors are producing large quantities of munitions and building what he described as the largest number of manufacturing plants and factories in U.S. history to meet military demand.
He also vowed to crack down on unauthorized disclosures, saying those responsible for what he called “treasonous statements” are “being hunted down” and that his administration will seek lengthy prison sentences for anyone found responsible.

The Trump administration launched an investigation into an Oregon university over multiple racially focused programs critics say run afoul of civil rights law
The Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services will investigate accusations that the Portland-based Oregon Health and Science University offers programs with built-in “preferences for non-whites.” The investigation comes after a complaint from the Equal Protection Project, an organization devoted to ensuring people of all races are treated fairly.
HHS told the Equal Protection Project last week that it had “determined that this office has jurisdiction over your allegations” and that it “will initiate an investigation,” according to a letter.
The letter added that when HHS “has reached a determination regarding your complaint, we will advise you of our findings.”
North Carolina’s Largest School District Hires Transgender Elementary Teacher
North Carolina’s largest school district hired a transgender elementary teacher without informing parents of the children who will soon be in his classroom.
Wake County’s schools have paid millions to DEI and equity consultants, including a former Democrat state legislator’s company. In 2022, North State Journal reported the Wake County schools’ office of equity affairs had spent over $8.69 million in taxpayer money.
The issue could become a flashpoint in the competitive U.S. Senate race pitting Democrat Roy Cooper against Republican Michael Whatley.
Whatley called out the school on X, writing, “We cannot allow men in high heels and skirts to indoctrinate North Carolina’s children. We must have safe kids and safe communities. Cooper will allow these predators into our schools to prey on 6 year olds.”
White House Launches Fraud Website
The White House is launching a website dedicated to exposing the fraud that Vice President JD Vance’s task force has uncovered
The new site, “The Fraud Ledger,” will highlight the successes of the “Task Force to Eliminate Fraud,” specifically focusing on the three values that the task force solicited from each partner agency: fraud uncovered, fraud stopped, and fraud enforcement.
It is designed to be a “public record of the fraud, waste, and corruption identified” by the task force since January 2025.
“President Trump is waging an all-out war on fraud, shutting down billions of dollars in taxpayer theft,” White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales told The Daily Wire. “Democrats have refused to stop this epidemic of fraud. The Trump Administration is holding these criminals accountable and ensuring key federal programs remain viable for the Americans they were meant to support.”
“Fraud uncovered” refers to estimates of total fraud that the agencies uncovered, using data and statistical methods, “fraud stopped” refers real dollars per year that were not spent due to the administration’s actions, and “fraud enforcement” refers to the money related to indictments, settlements, or civil monetary penalties.
Since January 2025, the task force has uncovered $229.9 billion, according to the website. The task force has stopped $56.4 billion in annual fraud, and enforced $55.5 billion in fraud through indictments and settlements.
Medicaid fraud deferrals top the list of the task force’s highest impact anti-fraud actions according to the new website, the Center for Medicaid Services deferred over $2 billion from California and $500 million from Minnesota.
Trump told donors ‘we need to elect JD’
President Donald Trump has publicly been coy about whether he might back Vice President JD Vance or Secretary of State Marco Rubio to succeed him in the White House, but private comments to donors suggest he might be leaning toward the man he already picked as his running mate in 2024.
“At the end of the day, we need to elect JD,” Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with donors roughly two weeks ago, a source with knowledge of the comments, who asked to remain anonymous to speak more freely
Trump made just one reference to Vance in his donor speech in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, hailing “the war on fraud led by our great Vice President JD Vance: He’s doing a great job.”
Rubio, who as a senator from Florida was one of more than a dozen GOP contenders who ran and lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential primary, came in a close second to Vance earlier this year in the closely watched 2028 Republican presidential nomination straw poll at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
The latest surveys and straw poll results are fuel for intrigue over what some in the Republican Party see as a budding rivalry between Rubio and Vance, who describe each other as friends.
Despite Vance having won the 2024 running mate sweepstakes, Trump has also lavishly praised Rubio for his work in peacemaking efforts in Venezuela, Cuba and the Middle East, while simultaneously serving as national security advisor among his many leadership roles in the administration.
The president earlier this year declared that Rubio would go down as “the greatest secretary of state in history.”
Trump has also promoted a Vance-Rubio ticket as “unstoppable” stopping short of explicitly saying who should be at the top of the ticket.
Trump did say last year that Vance is “most likely” his heir, because “in all fairness, he’s the vice president.”
