Trump rejected Iran’s sweeping demands for fully reopening the Strait of Hormuz turning Tehran’s call for war reparations back on the regime by declaring that the United States is “now demanding compensation” from Iran in all future negotiations.

“I see that Representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran are asking for compensation for the damage done to them during the last five month Military Conflict (started because, THEY WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON), even though it was never mentioned in any of our negotiations or meetings!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump cited the families of those killed in the 2000 terrorist bombing of the USS Cole and “thousands of others killed in combat,” while also demanding compensation for the families of Iranians brutally killed by the regime.

“Additionally, compensation should be paid to the families of the hundreds of thousands of innocent protestors that Iran has killed over the last 50 years, not to mention the 52,000 that have been killed in the last five months,” Trump wrote.

“I have instructed my representatives to put this firmly into any, and all, future negotiations,” he added.

Elizabeth Warren Praises Trump’s Latest Move With Defense Contractors

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) gave a rare nod of approval to President Donald Trump, praising his crackdown on defense contractors that prioritize shareholder payouts over weapons production, saying the move has worked so well that she wants Congress to make it permanent.

“Since the executive order was issued, each of the four largest defense contractors that engaged in stock buybacks and dividend payouts in the first quarter of 2025 cut them dramatically in the first quarter of 2026,” Warren said. “This review reveals that the president’s executive order helped protect taxpayers and improve investments by defense contractors.”

Warren is now urging Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to support legislation codifying key portions of Trump’s executive order into law.

“Given the findings of our review, we urge your support for codifying the president’s executive order into law and ensuring that the order has lasting results,” she wrote in a letter to Hegseth.

Trump signed an executive order in January, prohibiting defense contractors involved in business with the Pentagon from using capital for stock buybacks and dividend payments if the companies have not made critical investments in increased production and other Pentagon-related needs for the country’s national interest.

“Effective immediately, they are not permitted in any way, shape, or form to pay dividends or buy back stock, until such time as they are able to produce a superior product, on time and on budget,” Trump wrote in the order.

Trump said defense companies have the right to profit from their investments and hard work, but that “America’s warfighters have the best possible equipment and weapons.” Paying out dividends is a way for companies to distribute their profits to shareholders.

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that Russia has freed American citizen and former U.S. Marine Robert Gilman after more than four years in custody, saying Moscow released him on humanitarian grounds without receiving another prisoner in exchange.

“I am proud to announce that American Citizen Robert Gilman, a former United States Marine, is coming HOME!” Trump shared on Tuesday. “In a well known Media story, Robert was imprisoned in Russia in 2022, during the Biden Administration. After my discussions with President Vladimir Putin, Russia has agreed to release him, very much on a Humanitarian Basis.”

“We appreciate this decision, and the fact that Russia asked for no one in return No exchange took place,” Trump added.

Gilman, 32, was detained in Russia in January 2022 and later convicted of assaulting a Russian police officer. Russian authorities claimed that Gilman, who had been traveling by train, was intoxicated and kicked an officer after being taken into custody.

Trump said Gilman was traveling back to the United States with representatives of his administration and had already been reunited with his mother, who was accompanying him home. Gilman is expected to arrive in the United States Tuesday evening.

“I just spoke to him, and he had one request A GREAT cheeseburger when he lands,” the president said. “I will take care of that!”

“During my Administration, we have prioritized bringing home Americans Detained Abroad, and have done so at a level never seen before, returning hundreds of people to their families,” Trump noted. “We have also freed many non Americans who were under capture in different countries throughout the World.”
