March Payroll Growth 18x Larger Than Economy Needs

The U.S. economy added 178,000 workers to payrolls in March, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. That’s three times the consensus forecast of 59,000 and a sharp reversal from February’s revised decline of 133,000, which was dragged down by a large healthcare strike.

But the headline number understates just how strong the report really is. The break-even rate of employment growth the number of new workers needed on payrolls each month to hold the unemployment rate steady has collapsed to near zero, according to converging analyses from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.

Zohran Mamdani Omits Jesus’s Name in Good Friday Message: ‘We Mark a Day of Sacrifice’

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani made a Good Friday statement about sacrifice, fasting, and faith, but did not mention Jesus Christ by name, while Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) promoted legislation calling for the American flag to be flown at half-staff in recognition of Christ’s crucifixion.

Mamdani wrote on X:

Today, on Good Friday, we mark a day of sacrifice. Some New Yorkers will abstain from eating; others will spend hours without speaking.

Faith, the Bible tells us, is belief in the things unseen. That belief is what will guide so many of our neighbors in solemn reflection and reverence.

I wish all those observing Good Friday a blessed day of peace.

Good Friday is one of the holiest days in Christianity, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe died to save the world from sin.

Erasing Jesus’ name entirely and deliberately strips Good Friday of its very purpose, reducing it to an empty observance.

Kamala Harris Warns Trump Must Be Stopped from Picking More Supreme Court Justices

Doesn’t she know that nobody cares what she thinks or says?

Former Vice President Kamala Harris warned that President Donald Trump must not be allowed to pick two “additional justices” for the Supreme Court, adding that Democrats “must be clear-eyed about what is at stake.”

In a post on X, Harris who lost the 2024 Presidential election against Trump, shared an article from the New York Timesabout how a “liberal organization” was “preparing a multimillion–dollar effort to oppose potential Trump Supreme Court appointees before they happen.”

The New York Times reported that Josh Orton, who serves as “the president of Demand Justice,” predicted that “the project would cost $3 million to start and $15 million more if vacancies occurred”:

“We must be clear eyed about what is at stake with the Supreme Court right now,” Harris wrote. “We cannot allow Donald Trump to hand pick one, if not two, additional justices. The nation’s highest court must be stopped from becoming even more beholden to him.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s “first partner” Jennifer Siebel Newsom is going viral after a video resurfaced in which she said she gives her sons dolls and changes male protagonists in books to female protagonists when reading to her children.

The resurfaced conversation comes from a 2019 interview with the Los Angeles City Council President Nury Martinez honoring Women’s History Month.

“I’ve given our boys dolls … to learn that care and caregiving is not just an activity reserved for women but is also an activity that is a responsibility for men,” she said. Later in the interview, she added, “If I’m reading a book and the protagonist is a male, I just change the he to a she.” She said it normalizes women being the star of a story and that “women matter and women are interesting.”

ICE Arrests Islamic Leader Accused Of Aiding Hamas. He’s Lived In The U.S. For Decades.

The Trump administration arrested the president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, the Department of Homeland Security said on Thursday, describing the man as a Jordanian terrorist.

Salah Sarsour, who has lived in the United States for over 30 years, was convicted in Israel as a teenager after throwing molotov cocktails at the homes of Israeli soldiers. He has also been accused of helping raise money for Hamas in the 1990s. Sarsour was issued a green card under former President Bill Clinton after lying on his immigration application, Homeland Security said.

Sarsour has been the president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee for the past five years. The society is the largest Islamic group in Wisconsin, The New York Times reported. He is also a board member of the American Muslims for Palestine, a group that has faced scrutiny over alleged links to Hamas and its support for intifada in the wake of Hamas’ October 7, 2023, terrorist attack on Israel.

“This terrorist will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings,” DHS said.

The Trump administration posted the description and photo of Sarsour on social media in response to Wisconsin Democratic Governor Tony Evers criticizing the administration over Sarsour’s arrest.

“Targeting people because of their beliefs or background is wrong,” Evers said. “This is clearly about sowing division and fear and doesn’t help make Wisconsin safer. I’m thinking of Mr. Sarsour’s family in this difficult time, and I join [Rep. Gwen Moore]in calling for his immediate release.”

Sarsour’s attorney said the Milwaukee Muslim leader received deportation papers from the Trump administration, which said that the State Department determined Sarsour “poses an adverse consequence to foreign policy considerations.” The man’s attorneys argued that the Trump administration is only targeting Sarsour because of his anti-Israel views, adding that Sarsour has no criminal record in the United States.
