President Donald Trump on Saturday cancelled a daunting Joe Biden environmental policy, reversing the former president’s stricter fuel economy rules aimed at promoting use of electric vehicles.

The new rollback is playing out like a game of policy ping pong, as it was Biden who negated Trump’s first set of Corporate Average Fuel Economy reductions in his first term rules that dictate the kind of mileage vehicles must get to be sold to consumers.
Trump, took a shot at both Biden and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, writing:

The United States and China have agreed to reduce tariffs on a range of consumer and agricultural products following this week’s meeting between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, indicating a potential thaw in the trade war between the two countries.
According to Axios, the agreement covers $30 billion in “non-sensitive goods” and is part of a larger trade package reached during the Trump-Xi summit.
The White House said China will lower tariffs on certain agricultural products, seafood, wood products, cosmetics, and medical devices. In exchange, the United States will reduce tariffs on small appliances, toys, holiday decorations, and children’s car seats.
The tariff reductions could potentially lower prices on a variety of consumer goods for American shoppers, Axios reported.
The White House also announced that China will import 10 million metric tons of American coal in 2027 and another 10 million metric tons in 2028.
China was among the five largest importers of U.S. coal before sharply reducing its purchases in 2025 amid the trade dispute.
House Democrat Drops Massive 26-Article Impeachment Resolution Against Trump
As the battle for control of the House of Representatives intensifies ahead of the 2026 midterms, a lame-duck House Democrat dropped a comprehensive blueprint for how a potential Democratic majority could target the White House come January.
Steve Cohen (D-TN) introduced 26 articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, signaling that House Democrats are preparing to unleash aggressive oversight and potential impeachment proceedings if they reclaim the speaker’s gavel this fall, according to a Newsweek article. The sprawling resolution targets nearly every pillar of the administration’s second-term platform including military operations off the coast of Venezuela, the deployment of federal forces to domestic cities, executive orders ending birthright citizenship, and mass deportation policies.
“Trump is clearly the most impeachable President our country has ever endured,” Cohen wrote in a statement on Thursday. “His continued presence in office is a danger to our democracy. That the sycophantic Republican majority in Congress is derelict in its duty does not mean that I must abandon my responsibilities.”
“I took an independent oath to support and defend the Constitution,” he continued. “That commitment compels me to introduce this resolution today. When historians write about this period, and our constituents ask who stood up to President Trump’s lawlessness, this resolution is the answer.”
While the measure stands virtually no chance of moving in the current Republican-controlled House, Cohen openly framed the resolution as a roadmap for the incoming 120th Congress, warning that a shift in congressional power will immediately trigger a high-stakes constitutional showdown.
Nine days before the unveiling of Cohen’s articles of impeachment, the House rejected Representative Al Green’s (D-TX) motions. The House voted 232-147 on September 15 to shelve the Houston, Texas, representative’s motions.
Ro Khanna Calls for Release of Terror Leader Serving Five Life Terms
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) called Friday for Israel to free Marwan Barghouti, who is serving five life sentences for attacks that killed Israelis, as the midterm elections approach.
“I am calling for the release of Marwan Barghouti from Israeli prison,” Khanna wrote on X.
In a video accompanying the post, Khanna said Palestinians should choose their own leaders and argued that Barghouti could help bring about a Palestinian state living in peace with Israel.
“Palestinians must choose their own leaders. Barghouti has a unique standing among all Palestinian factions,” Khanna said. “He’s seen as non-corrupt, a strong leader, and secular. Barghouti could deliver a Palestinian state living in peace with Israel.”
An Israeli court convicted Barghouti in 2004 on five counts of murder and one count of attempted murder for attacks that killed a Greek Orthodox monk and four other people. The court sentenced him to five consecutive life terms plus additional prison time.
Trump Opens Midterm Push by Shoring Up GOP Strongholds
President Donald Trump is adding a string of campaign stops to his October calendar as Republicans prepare for the midterm elections but his first destinations will be some of the reddest states in the country.
Trump is scheduled to hold rallies in Durant, Oklahoma, on Thursday, October 1, and Mobile, Alabama, on Friday, October 2, according to the Republican National Committee. The two states gave Trump roughly two-thirds of their votes in 2024, with Trump carrying every county in Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma rally will be held at the Choctaw Event Center and is being hosted by the Trump 47 Committee, the joint fundraising operation connecting Trump and the Republican Party. Trump has endorsed Republican gubernatorial nominee Mike Mazzei, who is running against Democratic state House Minority Leader Cyndi Munson.
The Mobile rally also lands next door to one of Republicans’ best chances to pick up a House seat. The city borders Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District, where Republican state Rep. Rhett Marques is challenging Democratic Rep. Shomari Figures under a GOP-drawn map that the Supreme Court allowed the state to reinstate this year.
‘I Love Women, But…’: Trump Shuts Down Obama’s Two-Year Matriarchy Fantasy
Former President Barack Obama thinks the world would be better off if women ran every government on Earth for two years. President Donald Trump is not convinced.
“I love women. I think they’re great,” Trump told reporters Saturday. “But what a ridiculous statement that is, right?”
Obama made the sweeping claim Monday during a conversation with historian Doris Kearns Goodwin at Salem State University in Massachusetts. Reflecting on leadership and the importance of giving younger generations opportunities to lead, Obama recalled wondering during his presidency what would happen if women temporarily took over every government in the world.
“Even when I was president, I sometimes fantasized about if you put women in charge of every government for like two years and then just kind of saw, all right, how are things going?” Obama said. “I have a strong belief that things would they wouldn’t be perfect. But they’d be better. I’m confident about that. I really do.”
