New FBI Files Reveal Chilling Details About Wannabe Trump Assassin

The man who nearly assassinated President Donald Trump during a 2024 campaign rally in Pennsylvania used the name of a former Republican senator when making online purchases for the weapon used in the attack.
Thomas Crooks ordered gun parts from online websites using the name of the late Kansas Senator Bob Dole, according to FBI records reviewed by the New York Post. Crooks was shot dead by a Secret Service sniper on July 13, 2024, after he opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler, grazing the president in the ear and killing one of his supporters.
The FBI concluded last year that Crooks acted alone and had no foreign or domestic assistance.
Crooks, 20, still lived at home at the time of his attack on the president. Crooks’ body was cremated less than two weeks after the attack, drawing objections from lawmakers. That cremation was paid for by an “anonymous donor,” according to the FBI files.
Interviews conducted with Matthew Crooks, the father of the would-be assassin, reveal new details about the young man who came within inches of murdering Trump.
In the interview, Matthew told investigators that his son was not very political and did not express many emotions. Matthew said that Thomas started picking up target shooting in high school, according to the files viewed by the Post.
Matthew told the FBI that he “never really had a father/son bond” and that Thomas was always quiet and kept to himself. He said this persona became “more noticeable over the years” and that he “never showed interest in girls.”
“When Thomas was born, he did not scream and he was always quiet from that point on,” he told interviewers.

Crooks used the fake name as he was concerned about online hacking. Crooks also directed his parents to use VPNs for online security and recommended several he claimed were “less likely to be compromised by outside actors.”
While Crooks was a registered Republican, his most recent political donation went to a leftist group called Progressive Turnout Project in 2021.
“Thomas called himself a Republican. Thomas did not like the welfare state and was against the ‘woke’ ideology but never really espoused the Republican ideology,” said Matthew, who was unaware of the donation.
Matthew added that his son “did not believe the 2020 presidential election was rigged” and disliked most politicians.
The FBI said in November 2025 that Crooks did not leave behind a manifesto of any kind and that he acted alone.
Obamacare Plans Use Taxpayer Dollars For Abortions
A nonpartisan federal watchdog on Tuesday revealed that Obamacare subsidizes abortions, upending a longtime Democrat talking point
Nearly a quarter of Affordable Care Act plans cover abortions, the Government Accountability Office found. Of the 6,655 qualified health plans offered on Obamacare exchanges, 1,719 cover “non-excepted abortion services,” meaning elective abortions that are not the result of rape, incest, or danger to the mother’s life. States that have banned abortion prohibit exchange plans from covering these services.
About 4.4 million Americans are enrolled in Obamacare plans that cover abortions, the report found.
“As a strong defender of life, I find the results of today’s GAO report deeply concerning,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune said.
“American taxpayer dollars should not be used to subsidize elective abortions in violation of the longstanding Hyde Amendment.”
Trump Cabinet Hits The Road, Made 500 Trips Outside D.C. Ahead Of Midterms
The president’s cabinet has been criss-crossing the country over the summer, taking 500 domestic trips to talk directly to the American people about the administration’s achievements ahead of crucial midterm elections that could derail its agenda.
President Donald Trump’s Cabinet members made a total 500 domestic trips to between Memorial Day and Labor Day, touting the victories of the administration. The goal is to communicate what the administration is doing to “everyday Americans” across the nation in the weeks leading up to the midterm elections, and for the trips to the heartland to “inform future policymaking,” White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales.
Cabinet secretaries went to Texas 46 times, to Pennsylvania 42 times, to New York 40 times, to Iowa 28 times, and to Michigan 25 times, a White House official shared. They also visited Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Arkansas, Wisconsin, and New Jersey with at least 10 visits to each state.
“President Trump has assembled the most talented Cabinet in history who work every day to implement his commonsense agenda and deliver wins for the American people,” said Wales, who added that their presence around the country provides “a strong contrast to the record of failure by radical Democrats on the border, inflation, and crime.”
“In nearly two years, the President has made our country stronger than ever before with the most secure border in history, the largest middle-class tax cut ever, trillions in investment commitments, more than a million jobs created, and the lowest level of violent crime in nearly a century.”
Trump has promised to hit the campaign trail for Republicans in 35 key races in the final weeks before Americans head to the polls, battling for the GOP in an election year in which history suggests the odds are against Republicans.
“I’ll be with you 100%,” he vowed in early September during a White House Rose Garden dinner for lawmakers in competitive races. “We’re going to do something like I did for myself in the last presidential election. Four months out I said, ‘Ok. No days off.’ If I didn’t make four or five speeches a day, it was very bad. … All I’m gonna do is work, work, work, and fight, fight, fight, and win, win, win.”
Macklemore Blames Jewish NFL Owner For Getting Him Booted From Ed Sheeran Tour
Rapper Macklemore’s anti-Israel rant onstage at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey got him booted from singer Ed Sheeran’s tour and he responded by blaming a Jewish man.
Macklemore released a lengthy statement on Monday via Instagram, doubling down on his anti-Israel stance and then claiming that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft who is Jewish was behind a concerted effort to get him removed from the tour.
“Ed Sheeran and his team have made the decision to remove me from The Loop tour,” he wrote, adding, “I am not a victim. Ed Sheeran is not a victim. Pink is not a victim. We have careers, money, opportunities, safety and audiences around the world. Whatever consequences any of us face for what we say, we get to go home to our families. The victims are the Palestinian people.”
Macklemore alleged that Kraft, whose company owns Gillette Stadium, refused to let him perform during Sheeran’s upcoming shows at the Massachusetts venue and “rallied” other stadium owners to take the same position.
“We were scheduled to play Gillette Stadium later this month, which is owned by the Kraft Group,” Macklemore wrote. “Ed told me that Kraft said I would not be allowed to perform in his stadium. Ed also told me that Kraft had rallied some of the other stadium owners and collectively they gave him an ultimatum: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you will not be allowed to play in our venues.”
Messina Touring Group, which is promoting the tour, confirmed earlier Monday that multiple venues had said they would “not allow a concert to take place with Macklemore on the lineup.” The company said Macklemore was dropped following “discussions with stakeholders.”
Painting himself as a noble martyr for the cause, willing to risk losing everything for what he believed in, Macklemore proceeded to suggest that Sheeran was a coward for refusing to choose a side.
What a loser.
