Florida Republicans send SAVE Act–style proof-of-citizenship voting bill to DeSantis’ desk

Florida lawmakers are sending Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis a strict elections bill modeled after the federal SAVE America Act strongly championed by President Donald Trump that mandates voters verify their citizenship when registering.

Please consider supporting Trump news so we can Turn America Red in November:

Lawmakers in Tallahassee, Florida, in the GOP-dominated state House approved the measure in a 77–28 vote Thursday, hours after the bill passed the Republican-controlled state Senate 27–12. The votes in both houses of the Florida legislature were nearly entirely along party lines.

DeSantis, a supporter of what he calls “the Florida version of the SAVE Act,” is expected to sign the measure when it reaches his desk.

"Although Florida has already enacted much of what the federal legislation contemplates, this will further fortify our state as the leader in election integrity," the governor highlighted in a social media post.

While polls indicate the vast majority of Americans regardless of the political affiliation support voter IDs at the polls and preventing noncitizens from voting in federal elections, Democrats argue the bill is not needed, since citizenship already is a requirement to vote and instances of noncitizen voting are rare.

Trump Takes Step To Make It Easier For Americans To Buy A Home

President Donald Trump signed two executive orders on Friday aimed at slashing regulations that have slowed home-building and complicated the lending process as the president zeroes in on his house affordability agenda.

One order seeks to take federal regulatory burdens off of homebuilders, streamline federal permitting for housing developments, and develop regulatory best practices for state and local governments to follow.

The other order would “improve the availability and affordability of mortgage credit” and ease regulations that have especially affected local lenders, such as community banks, according to the White House.

“It is the policy of my Administration to reduce regulatory barriers to building homes and to steward taxpayer dollars in a manner that promotes housing affordability,” one of the orders states.

Trump’s move to address housing affordability comes as the White House focuses on tackling economic issues ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. Housing costs remain on the forefront of many Americans’ minds after prices jumped in the years after the COVID pandemic, when construction significantly slowed.

“The American dream of homeownership depends on a dynamic housing market in which a varied inventory of new homes is built and renovated each year,” Trump’s executive order added. “Layers of unnecessary regulatory barriers, slow permitting processes, and onerous mandates at all levels of government have delayed construction, restricted development, and driven up the costs of new housing. These constraints have made housing less affordable for many Americans.”

Trump also continues to pressure Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to further lower the interest rate, which has dropped to the 3.50%-3.75% range. The Federal Reserve is set to meet next week to decide whether to move the interest rate or keep it steady.

“Where is the Federal Reserve Chairman, Jerome ‘Too Late’ Powell, today? He should be dropping Interest Rates, IMMEDIATELY, not waiting for the next meeting,” Trump said on Thursday.

Trump: U.S. ‘Obliterated Every Military Target’ on Kharg in Historic Mideast Raid

President Donald Trump announced Friday that the United States carried out what he described as “one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East,” declaring that U.S. forces “totally obliterated every MILITARY target” on Iran’s strategic Kharg Island the regime’s so-called “crown jewel” and primary oil export hub while warning Tehran its vital energy infrastructure could be targeted next if it interferes with shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

“Moments ago, at my direction, the United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island,” Trump wrote.

Trump explained that the United States chose not to destroy the island’s oil facilities at least for now.

“Our Weapons are the most powerful and sophisticated that the World has ever known but, for reasons of decency, I have chosen NOT to wipe out the Oil Infrastructure on the Island,” Trump wrote.

“However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision,” he added.

FBI Director Kash Patel: Old Dominion Shooting an ‘Act of Terrorism’

He posted:

Earlier today, an armed individual opened fire at Old Dominion University, leaving one person dead and two others wounded. The shooter is now deceased thanks to a group of brave students who stepped in and subdued him – actions that undoubtedly saved lives along with the quick response of law enforcement. The FBI is now investigating the shooting as an act of terrorism. Our Joint Terrorism Task Force is fully engaged, embedded with local authorities, and providing all resources necessary in the investigation.

The ODU shooter was a former National Guardsman who was convicted of supporting ISIS.

The alleged Old Dominion attacker, 36-year-old Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, was arrested on July 3, 2016, “for attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.” In 2017, he was convicted and sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Trump compared by MS NOW contributor to a less ‘serious’ Hitler who’s ‘selling merch’

MS NOW contributor Anand Giridharadas argued in an interview this week that President Donald Trump was an unserious form of Adolf Hitler because at least Hitler was “very serious” about his actions and didn’t “sell merch.”

Giridharadas told former ABC journalist Terry Moran on his “Real Patriotism“ Substack account Wednesday that a growing number of Trump’s followers “see through him” as a “weak man pretending to be a strong man.”

He then went even further and suggested Trump didn’t even measure up to other dictators like Hitler or Stalin.

INSANE. Look at this crazy:

“He’s not up there with the great historical dictators,” Giridharadas said. “He’s trying to do that. The attempt is very much in progress. But I think it’s also important that we don’t, you know, concede the ground to him in advance. I think he’s like a highly incompetent person trying to do an authoritarian attempt and trying to barnacle the authoritarian attempt with so much personal stealing and whatever, which, by the way, a lot of these authoritarians have the discipline to not do. I don’t know. Someone’s going to call me on, maybe I’m wrong. I don’t think Hitler was selling merch.”

He continued, “Hitler was very serious on his awful project. I don’t know that Mao [Zedong] or [Joseph] Stalin and all these people were trying to do serious other things in addition to the thing, right? So he’s like an unserious authoritarian. He’s like a part-time side hustle authoritarian, which I think has limited the power of the attempt.”

Man Killed In Dallas SWAT Standoff Worked As Security For Jasmine Crockett

A man shot and killed by Dallas police during a SWAT standoff this week had previously served as a security guard for Rep. Jasmine Crockett, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

Dallas police tracked the suspect, who went by different aliases but was going by the name Mike King to a parking garage at Children’s Medical Center Dallas late Wednesday night, Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said during a press conference Thursday morning.

‘RIP ‘EM OUT’: Hegseth Declares War On Wokeness In Military Schools

For years, the radical Left has treated America’s civilian universities as laboratories for anti-American indoctrination peddling “whiteness studies,” seminars on gender-based genocide, and even the celebration of Hamas. On Thursday, War Secretary Pete Hegseth made it clear that toxic “woke” rot ends at the doors of the Department of War.

Hegseth delivered a blistering ultimatum to the military’s educational bureaucracy, directing the Undersecretary of War for Personnel and Readiness to establish an immediate task force. Hegseth announced a 90-day “scorched earth” assessment of the nation’s senior service colleges, including the Army War College and National Defense University. The mission? To “rip out” the DEI playbook and return the focus to what actually matters: lethality, meritocracy, and winning wars.

“Seminars on genocide through the analytic of gender. Hmm, sounds interesting,” Hegseth mused. “So-called ‘whiteness studies.’ Courses that celebrate the history of Hamas, where a professor calls Islamist militants and their attacks ‘astounding’ and ‘incredible.’ Graduate studies that focus on the abolition of law enforcement. Classes on leadership that are just recycled garbage from the old DEI, diversity, equity, and inclusion playbook: These are examples of classes that our leaders in our civilian colleges and universities too often celebrate.”

“The truth is, they help cultivate a radical hate America agenda, and we can’t afford that same toxic ideology in America’s War Department,” he declared. “It degrades our readiness. It’s a risk to our forces. And it undermines our mission of peace through strength.”

He continued:

At the Department of War, we have a duty to ensure that our professional military education develops real leaders, warfighters who dominate into the future. We’re committed to making our own senior service colleges maintain the highest of standards, that those places align with President Trump’s commitment to the American people, that our military will remain the strongest in history.

That’s why I’m directing the Undersecretary of War for Personnel and Readiness to establish a task force effective immediately. The mission of that task force is to evaluate our senior service colleges, where we educate our own. Think places like the Army War College, or National Defense University, the Naval War College, Marine Corps University, or the Air War College, where our senior officers go to continue their education.

We’re going to ensure that the professors, administrators, and curriculum of those institutions are focused on national security, strategy, history, and overall excellence, confirm that high standards and meritocracy are forefront, and make sure that what we’ve seen in our civilian institutions never surface in our military education institutions.

Trust me, I’ve heard the stories. I know some of our own senior service colleges, some of those that I just listed, have similar courses and similar ideologies. We need to rip ‘em out, and we’re going to.

This task force will have 90 days to assess whether our senior service colleges the list I just provided are actually effective. They’re going to identify any deficiencies and make sure they’re focused on core national security issues.
