Trump urges Republicans to 'BE BOLD' as red states push to rewrite congressional maps

“I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives,’” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I don’t like it. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!”

Newsom Blames Trump For California’s High Gas Prices. Burgum Takes Him To The Woodshed

“California hasn’t changed anything as it relates to that cost,” Newsom insisted, claiming that state-level baseline costs have remained static. “The cost at the pump has been for one reason: Donald Trump’s recklessness as it relates to the war in Iran, period, full stop.” In March, Newsom dismissed Trump’s “Drill Baby Drill” mantra as a “lie to enrich Big Oil donors,” claiming that American families are paying $1.5 billion more at the pump weekly while corporations “cash in on Trump’s chaos.”

Burgum took the governor to the woodshed, dismantling Newsom’s narrative by pointing to California’s specific policy choices. Burgum highlighted that California has intentionally isolated itself from the American energy grid, effectively becoming an “energy island.”

“California is leading in highest energy prices, highest taxes, and out-migration,” Burgum stated. “They’ve blocked every pipeline, they block transmission lines … and then they’re complaining to this administration about their high energy prices.”

Burgum noted a startling vulnerability in California’s infrastructure: the state is uniquely dependent on oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz. While the rest of the country has increased domestic energy security, California imports roughly 60% of its oil by ship. Burgum also pointed to the systematic dismantling of California’s refining capacity, noting the state has plummeted from 40 refineries to just six, while Texas continues to expand its capacity.

Trump Takes A 2028 Presidential Straw Poll: Vance Or Rubio?

President Donald Trump polled a crowd at the White House on Monday, asking if they would like to see Vice President JD Vance or Secretary of State Marco Rubio run for president in 2028.

“I don’t know. Who’s it going to be? Is it going to be JD? Is there going to be somebody else? I don’t know,” Trump told a group of law enforcement officials at the White House on Monday.

He then asked the crowd who they thought should succeed him.

“Who likes JD Vance? Who likes Marco Rubio? All right. Sounds like a good ticket,” Trump asked.

Applause from those in attendance appeared to be louder for Vance, but Trump said he wasn’t making any endorsements yet.

“By the way, I do believe that’s a dream team. But these are minor details. That does not mean you have my endorsement under any circumstance. But you know … I think it sounds like presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate,” Trump said.

Rubio said last year that he would support Vance if the vice president decided to run for president.

“If JD Vance runs for president, he’s going to be our nominee, and I’ll be one of the first people to support him,”

Trump Admin Targets 25 ‘Terrorists’ In Tren De Aragua Crackdown

President Donald Trump’s administration carried out a recent crackdown on the Venezuelan gang known as Tren de Aragua, hitting 25 alleged members of the criminal organization with federal charges.

The Department of Justice announced Monday that it filed charges in six states against the accused gangbangers for firearms trafficking, drug trafficking, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, among others. Many of the accused are illegal immigrants from Venezuela, Colombia, and Honduras, the Justice Department said.

The operation took place the last week of April, resulting in the seizure of more than 80 firearms and roughly 18 kilograms of drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, ketamine, MDMA, and Tusi, or pink cocaine, a mixed substance that contains ketamine and/or MDMA. Federal authorities also confiscated more than $100,000.

“In a few days, the Justice Department and its partners on Joint Task Force Vulcan carried out a nationwide takedown of vicious Tren de Aragua terrorist networks depraved, violent offenders who have illegally invaded our country and preyed upon American communities,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement Monday.

Trump administration rejects UN migration declaration, says ‘mass migration was never safe’

President Donald Trump ended U.S. participation in the U.N. process to develop the Global Compact for Migration during his first term in 2017, and now the State Department says the federal government will again affirm its opposition.

“As Secretary Rubio said, opening our doors to mass migration was a grave mistake that threatens the cohesion of our societies and the future of our peoples,” the department’s statement reads. “In recent years, Americans witnessed first-hand how mass immigration laid waste to our communities: crime and chaos at the border, states of emergency in major cities, and billions of taxpayer dollars funneled towards hotels, plane tickets, cell phones and cash cards for migrants.”

“Much of this was driven by UN agencies and their partners, which did not just facilitate the invasion of our country, but proceeded to redistribute our own people’s wealth and resources to millions of foreigners from the worst corners of the world,” it continued.

The department argued there was nothing safe, orderly or regular about any of this, adding that the costs “were borne primarily by working Americans forced to compete for scarce jobs, housing, and social services.”

Trump urges Republicans to ‘BE BOLD’ as red states push to rewrite congressional maps

President Donald Trump says he’ll be “watching closely” as lawmakers in the Republican-dominated South Carolina legislature on Tuesday begin redrawing their state’s congressional district map to erase the only Democrat-dominated U.S. House seat.

At the same time, Republican officials in solidly red Alabama are moving forward with a redrawn congressional map that would likely eliminate one of the state’s two Democratic-held U.S. House seats in time for this autumn’s midterm elections, when the GOP will be defending its razor-thin congressional majority.

This week’s moves in Alabama and South Carolina, along with similar efforts in Louisiana and Tennessee, come two weeks after a ruling by the conservative majority on the Supreme Court to slash a key Voting Rights Act protection.

In Florida, Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis last week signed a bill by the GOP-dominated state legislature that overhauls the red-leaning state’s congressional districts, adding four more right-leaning seats by eliminating districts currently controlled by Democrats.

Republicans currently control Florida’s U.S. House delegation by a 20-8 margin.
