Trump Win: U.S. Poverty Rate Hits Lowest on Record as Incomes Set New High
The U.S. poverty rate fell to the lowest level on record in 2025 while median household income climbed to a record high, the Census Bureau said
The official poverty rate dropped 0.5 percentage points to 10.2% last year, leaving 34.5 million people in poverty, according to data released by the bureau. The decline was the second consecutive annual drop and the lowest rate since the agency began tracking the measure, while median household income rose 2.6% to $87,460, the highest on record dating back to 1967.

The White House hailed the figures, which cover the first year of President Donald Trump’s second term.
“President Trump’s proven economic agenda delivered historic working-class prosperity in his first year back in office, with record-high real income and record-low poverty breaking the records he set during his first term,” the administration said in a statement.

This year, claims have been extraordinarily low by historical standards. Prior to this year, the weekly initial claims number has only been this low four times since 1969. There was not a single week from 1970 to 2018 with claims this low.

Trump Says Interest Rates Should Be 1% or Less After Fed’s First Hike in 3 Years
President Donald Trump said interest rates should be one percent or less after the Federal Reserve unanimously hiked rates by a quarter of a percent on Wednesday.
“Interest Rates in the United States should be 1%, or less, because we are the Best Credit in the World — BY FAR. Our Country is BOOMING with new Investment! If we stopped Trading with every country that we have a Deficit with, which is most of them, we would make, at least, 1.5 Trillion Dollars a year,” he wrote.
“The word ‘Deficit’ is nothing more than a fancy word for LOSS. We are ‘carrying’ almost every country in the World, and that cannot go on any longer. LOWER THE INTEREST RATES FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND FAST!” he added.
The federal funds rate now sits in the range of 3.75 percent and four percent after the decision, which is the first rate hike since 2023. Fed chairman Kevin Warsh, who was sworn into the post in May, said the hike “comes at a time when the economy appears to be strengthening.”
Trump Admin Frees Dairy Farmers From Funding Woke Climate Initiatives

American dairy farmers are required to pay fees as part of the Dairy Checkoff Program, which are meant to fund research and education that strengthens markets for American dairy products, a Department of Agriculture official shared. But under Biden, the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy began putting the fees towards Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives including greenhouse gas and net-zero targets.
Thursday’s action will end checkoff support for projects focused on ESG but keep any “necessary administrative functions” that are not focused on the ESG initiatives. In a Wednesday evening interview with The Daily Wire, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins said President Donald Trump was committed to ending this mandatory wokeness.
“Since President Trump first came into office, one of the top-of-mind issues as he campaigned around the country and then built his cabinet was our country and our leaders bowing to the radical climate agenda of the Left,” Rollins said. “Those days are over.”
“Assessments should not underwrite environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks, net-zero, or climate-neutrality initiatives that impose non-statutory costs, restrictions, or commitments on domestic producers or processors,” the memo states.
Checkoffs are designed to promote and provide research to boost demand for specific agricultural products. Farmers pay checkoff fees based on how much of a given product they sell. Other checkoff programs include the American Pecan Promotion Board, the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, the Real Christmas Tree Board, the Mushroom Council, or the Hass Avocado Board.
The USDA argues that the Dairy Checkoff is effective when not focused on leftist ideological goals, citing economists at Texas A&M who found that Checkoff investments increased demand for dairy products and dairy exports.
Trump Is Cleaning House After ICE Hiring Rush Put Unvetted Recruits On The Streets
ICE hired 12,000 new officers and agents in the span of roughly four months by offering up to $50,000 in signing bonuses thanks to a flood of cash from President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill.
Now, the feds have started trying to clean up the mess by quietly firing some of the recent recruits after the results of their background checks came back with red flags. Despite the rushed and poor vetting, many of the junior ICE officers were allowed to take to the streets to make arrests, according to several current ICE officers.
When dealing with the now-commonplace combative target or agitator, the officers said they were often left to fend for themselves as the new recruits stood by frozen and unsure of how to conduct themselves.
“There’s been a lot of instances where we get into an altercation with subjects that are resistant, and they just watch like they don’t know what to do, or they just do nothing,” one source said.
Leftists Deploy Literal Clowns To Combat Right-Wingers
The Left has apparently found a new weapon in its fight against the Right: actual clowns.
The Guardian published a glowing profile Wednesday of a growing movement of leftist activists who dress up as clowns to protest everything from Republicans and “fascism” to capitalism, ICE, patriarchy, and New York’s horse-drawn carriage industry.
The profile, headlined “Send in the clowns: the new guard of activists combating the right,” centers on Taylor Horne, a Brooklyn-based drag performer who goes by “Tillie the Clown” and has turned clowning into a full-time political activism career. Horne recently spent two hours applying clown makeup and putting on a costume before waiting another 10 hours to address the New York City Council for three minutes over legislation that would phase out the city’s horse carriage industry.
Horne appeared before the council wearing a black top hat and gloves with a face painted white and red. Horne told the Guardian that when carriage-horse supporters mocked the appearance on social media, they had “fallen right into my trap.” The clown explained that the point was to make opponents focus on the performer rather than the argument. But horse carriages are only one item on the activist clown agenda.
